One of the ways we do school is to have the kids research the places we plan to visit. Having them read about a location serves several purposes. They know what to expect when we get there. They can think ahead about questions they have that they want to find the answers to while visiting. They learn to take notes, and when we have them do a write-up, they hone their writing skills.
We’re slowly pulling together resources, organized by location, for the kids to do their research. We add in relevant blog posts as we visit sites.
