Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare

What’s more fun on a Saturday morning than a breakfast buffet?  Nothing, if you ask the kids!  We scored a late breakfast seating (11:35) today, so we didn’t even have to get up early.  1900 Park Fare is one of the Grand Floridian’s several table service restaurants, and can be found just off the main lobby.  Prices aren’t too bad, ranging from $29-55  for adults to $17-31 for kids, depending on season and whether you go for breakfast or dinner.

I’ll be honest.. 1900 Park Fare is not one of my favorite restaurants.  The food is standard Disney breakfast stuff – good, but not amazing (wait, have I said that before?)  And it’s super loud.  But we were trying to finish off our autograph books, and we needed Alice, Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins.

We all found plenty to fill up on, despite being a little underwhelmed with the food.  1900 Park Fare is known for its strawberry soup, and Colwyn certainly enjoyed it.  Niall surprised us all by devouring a huge hunk of ham, even though he’s always refused ham in the past.  Fiona’s favorite was the gummi bears (she did actually pack away a lot of actual breakfast food, too), while I discovered that putting the berry compote and whipped cream that was meant for the cheese blintzes on the pancakes was pretty awesome.

The characters were all pretty entertaining.  As always, the littles brought some toys to use as ice breakers.  Being on the shy side, it helps to have something to talk about – though my kids still have that zombie look more often than not when meeting a character.  I usually end up picking up the slack; I always feel bad for the poor cast members when the kids don’t feel like talking.

The kids are begging to go back for dinner!  The characters are completely different at dinner – you get to meet Cinderella and Prince Charming, and the Tremaines.  We do need their autographs, so…

As always, we put together a video of our adventure!  After breakfast, we had a lot of fun in Basin and rode the monorail, and even found the monorail roundhouse, something Niall has been dreaming of for years!  Check it out!
